ITIN Service – What We Do & What You Need
For in-depth ITIN rules and eligibility details, please see our ITIN Tax Guide.
How our service works: You share your details and a valid passport (original or acceptable certified copy). We prepare your Form W-7, assemble your application package, and send it to the IRS for processing. We monitor for IRS correspondence and support you until an ITIN is assigned or any follow-up questions are resolved.

We need your basic personal information (as it will appear on Form W-7) and a valid passport. If applicable, we’ll advise on supporting evidence for your filing reason (for example, being included on a U.S. return or a specific exception).
The IRS accepts either your original passport or a certified copy issued by the passport authority. Notarized copies are not sufficient. If you can’t part with your passport, ask us about acceptable certified copies or in-person alternatives.
Yes. Each applicant (spouse or dependent) needs their own identity and status documents and their own Form W-7 reason. If applying in person with the IRS or a CAA, each applicant must appear with their package.
Most applicants attach a U.S. tax return to support the need for an ITIN. Certain narrowly defined exceptions allow applying without a return when specific third-party documentation exists. We’ll confirm which path fits your case.
Typical timing is about 7 weeks for an IRS status notice, and around 9–11 weeks during peak season (mid-January to end of April) or if applying from overseas. Original supporting documents mailed to the IRS may take up to 60 days to be returned.
The IRS issues your ITIN in an assignment letter (commonly CP565) mailed to the address on your application. Keep this letter with your records.
If the IRS needs clarification or additional documents, they’ll send a notice with a response deadline. We’ll help you respond correctly and on time to keep your application moving.
Once you receive an SSN, you’ll use it for all future filings (not the ITIN). Inform the IRS so your records can be updated and linked correctly.
ITINs expire if not used on a U.S. federal tax return for three consecutive tax years. When needed again, you’ll renew via the same Form W-7 framework. We can handle renewals as well.
