Jura Wealth Tax Calculator
Jura Wealth Tax Calculator 2025
Estimate your annual wealth tax in the Canton of Jura — progressive cantonal scale with an adjustable overall coefficient for canton and commune.
Jura levies wealth tax on your net wealth as at 31 December. After deducting debts and personal allowances, the remaining taxable wealth is taxed according to a progressive cantonal scale. The resulting amount is then adjusted by cantonal and communal coefficients, leading to typical effective wealth tax rates of roughly 0.4–0.55 % of taxable net wealth at common wealth levels.
This calculator models the 2025 Jura wealth tax bands and allows you to choose an overall coefficient (cantonal + communal, excluding church tax). It is intended for planning and comparison only and does not replace the official Jura tax calculator.
Step 1 — Net wealth (assets − debts) − personal allowance = taxable wealth
Step 2 — Cantonal “basic” wealth tax on taxable wealth (progressive bands)
Step 3 — Total wealth tax ≈ basic tax × overall coefficient (canton + commune)
The model uses 2025 Jura bands with marginal rates from approx. 0.05–0.12 % on each slice, then applies your chosen overall coefficient so that effective rates around 0.41 % at CHF 1 million and 0.53 % at CHF 3–5 million can be reproduced for typical communes.

Enter your net wealth (worldwide, for residents, minus deductible debts), pick your filing status and an overall coefficient. The default coefficient of 5.0 approximates the combined cantonal and communal burden (excluding church tax) in a mid-range Jura commune such as Delémont.
Example Scenarios
Example A — Single, Net Wealth CHF 1,000,000, Coefficient 5.0
Net wealth CHF 1,000,000.
Personal allowance ≈ CHF 28,500 → wealth after allowance ≈ CHF 971,500.
Taxable wealth (above minimum threshold) ≈ CHF 971,500.
Basic Jura wealth tax on this base ≈ CHF 825 (rounded).
Overall coefficient 5.0 → total wealth tax ≈ CHF 4,100
(effective rate ≈ 0.41 % of net wealth, excluding church tax).
Example B — Married, Net Wealth CHF 3,000,000, Coefficient 5.0
Net wealth CHF 3,000,000.
Personal allowance ≈ CHF 57,000 → wealth after allowance ≈ CHF 2,943,000.
Taxable wealth ≈ CHF 2,943,000.
Basic Jura wealth tax ≈ CHF 3,100 (rounded).
With coefficient 5.0 → total wealth tax ≈ CHF 15,600
(effective rate ≈ 0.52 % of net wealth, excluding church tax).
These examples are rounded and for illustration only. Use the calculator with your own figures and commune-level coefficient for a more tailored estimate, and compare with the official Jura tax calculator for the relevant tax year.
Planning Use
- Adjust the overall coefficient to approximate different communes and fiscal years, then use the effective rate as a benchmark when comparing Jura to other cantons.
- Combine this calculator with Allowances & Deductions and Valuation Rules to refine your taxable net wealth (mortgages, other debts, exempt pension assets, business valuation, etc.).
- Integrate the result into broader Planning Strategies — residence choice, leverage and debt structuring, timing of gifts and inheritances, and cross-border coordination.
- For complex wealth structures (business holdings, real estate portfolios, international assets), consider a tailored review via the Jura Income Tax Service .
