Uri Wealth Tax Calculator
Uri Wealth Tax Calculator 2025
Estimate your annual wealth tax liability in the Canton of Uri — adjust for filing status, basic allowance and total tax factor (Steuerfuss).
The Canton of Uri levies a cantonal wealth tax on taxable net wealth (worldwide assets minus deductible debts) as at 31 December. Uri’s wealth tax is relatively straightforward: a proportional cantonal rate is applied to taxable net wealth, and the resulting simple tax is then multiplied by the combined tax factors (“Steuerfüsse”) of canton, municipality and church.
This calculator models a simplified Uri wealth tax for the 2025 tax year using: basic personal allowances by filing status and a single proportional cantonal wealth tax rate of 1.2‰ (0.12%). You can then apply a total tax factor (for example 1.60 = 160% of the simple tax) to reflect your specific municipality and church situation.
Step 1: Taxable Net Wealth = Net Wealth − Personal Allowance
Step 2: Simple Wealth Tax (100%) = Taxable Net Wealth × 0.12% (1.2‰)
Step 3: Total Wealth Tax ≈ Simple Wealth Tax × Total Tax Factor (Steuerfuss gesamt)
For planning purposes, personal allowances are set at CHF 80,000 for single taxpayers and CHF 160,000 for married couples taxed jointly. Child allowances, church-tax exemptions and other reliefs are not fully modelled here — they are covered in more detail on the Allowances & Deductions page.
Interactive Calculator
Enter your net wealth, filing status and the combined total tax factor (Steuerfuss gesamt) applicable to your municipality (sum of canton, commune and church). In Uri, overall factors in the range of 1.4×–1.8× of the simple tax are common, but the exact figure depends on your commune and church affiliation.
Example Scenarios
Example A — Single, CHF 1,000,000, Factor 1.60
Net wealth CHF 1,000,000.
Personal allowance (single) CHF 80,000 → taxable CHF 920,000.
Simple wealth tax at 1.2‰ ≈ CHF 1,104.
Total factor 1.60 → estimated total wealth tax ≈ CHF 1,766.
Effective burden ≈ 0.18% of net wealth.
Example B — Married, CHF 3,000,000, Factor 1.50
Net wealth CHF 3,000,000.
Personal allowance (married / joint) CHF 160,000 → taxable CHF 2,840,000.
Simple wealth tax at 1.2‰ ≈ CHF 3,408.
Total factor 1.50 → estimated total wealth tax ≈ CHF 5,112.
Effective burden ≈ 0.17% of net wealth (excluding church tax exemptions and detailed deductions).
These examples are indicative and rounded. Actual assessments depend on your exact municipal and church tax factors, full family situation and the official calculations by the Uri tax administration.
