Service suisse de l'impôt sur la fortune
Swiss Wealth Tax Service – Overview
We integrate Swiss wealth tax analysis and filings into your overall Swiss personal tax engagement. In most cases, this is handled together with your Swiss income tax return and, where relevant, cross-border coordination with the US or Germany.
How we handle Swiss wealth tax
Swiss wealth tax is assessed annually at canton and communal level on your net assets. In practice, it is closely linked to your income tax filing: the same asset statements, valuations and canton allocations drive both tax types.
For this reason, we normally deliver wealth tax work as part of a combined Swiss personal tax engagement. Scope, pricing and engagement terms are therefore described on our Service suisse d'impôt sur le revenu page, particularly for cross-border cases involving the US (Sesch USA LLC) or Germany (Sesch Group GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft) alongside Swiss tax (Sesch TaxRep GmbH).
If you are primarily concerned with wealth tax exposure (for example, due to a large securities portfolio, participation holdings or multiple properties), we will factor this into the overall income tax engagement rather than offering a separate, stand-alone wealth tax package.
Technical guide, calculator and planning tools
To understand your potential exposure or prepare for a mandate, you can use the following resources in our tax guide:
-
Guide de l'impôt sur la fortune en Suisse
Technical overview of wealth tax rules, thresholds, valuation principles and common planning themes. -
Calculateur de l'impôt sur la fortune en Suisse
Calculator covering all cantons to estimate wealth tax based on residence, asset levels and basic assumptions.
Wealth tax by canton – selected hubs
Wealth tax rates, exemptions and implementation differ by canton. We maintain dedicated hubs for key cantons with significant high-net-worth or cross-border populations:
- Zurich – Wealth Tax Guide
- Zug – Wealth Tax Guide
- Schwyz – Wealth Tax Guide
- Vaud – Wealth Tax Guide
- Geneva – Wealth Tax Guide
Additional canton pages will be added over time. Where a canton is not yet covered in a hub, we provide bespoke analysis as part of the Swiss income tax engagement.
